  • Michael Trevor Naughton, 42, from St. Anthony went missing in Vida, Oregon last week after he ran out of gas and his car was left with camping gear; his mother offers $1,000 rewards for tips about his recovery (over 30 people are searching despite fading efforts due to weather).  East Idaho News
  • Homestead Senior Living residents went to Driggs Snowscapes today to see large ice and snow sculptures (a seasonal showcase drawing visitors from across the region). The outing sparked lively conversation among the group and offered a fresh look at local winter art.  East Idaho News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The 27-year-old Barbershop Festival returns this weekend with workshops and a Friday performance at Madison High School (2300 University Blvd) and a Saturday show at the Romance Theater (2 East Main St). Headlining Sunday Night Social, ranked sixth last year, will perform with quartets as tickets cost $6 and $10.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • BYUI is hosting a STEM career fair today at the Center Courts from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature over 100 companies and graduate schools offering networking and career opportunities for students across all majors.  BYU-Idaho Scroll
  • Brigham Young University - Idaho and West Jefferson are partnering on a pilot literacy program that lets Education students minor in literacy work with real students this academic year. The initiative aims to boost reading skills among local learners.  The Jefferson Star
