  • The St. Anthony Chamber donated nearly $3,000 to bring the new diving board at the St. Anthony Sandbar closer to completion.  Rexburg Standard Journal
  • Porter Park has become livelier as winter ends, and visitors enjoy picnicking, sports and dog walks—activities that will increase in the coming weeks.  BYU-Idaho Scroll
  • Rexburg resident Jess Goudy started the I <3 Life in Rexburg Facebook group in 2016 after a similar page was deleted and built it into the city’s largest community resource with over 28,000 users posting more than 50 times daily. She also runs the Rexburg Mobile Food Pantry—an effort that began during COVID and now serves around 550 families each month.  East Idaho News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A preliminary report from the NTSB said that a Bell 505 Jet Ranger X crashed on Feb. 20 at 4:40 p.m. near Ririe Dam when its main rotor hit power lines, killing a Utah CEO and injuring passenger Steve Houghton who later got out of the helicopter on his own.  East Idaho News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The advanced wedding and event planning class will host Temples in Bloom, a floral celebration in the Ezra Taft Benson Greenhouse on Saturday from 6-9 p.m. Attendees will receive a makeshift passport+ a stamp as they visit four temple designs from Tokyo, Rome, Salt Lake City and Nuku'alofa, while tickets cost $5 for students and faculty and $6 for the community, available online or at the door.  BYU-Idaho Scroll

  • BYU-Idaho’s Apparel Design Society helps students explore fashion careers by hosting portfolio workshops and guest speaker sessions to build networking skills—members meet every second and fourth Wednesday at 5 p.m. and can join by contacting an apparel teacher or attending a meeting.  BYU-Idaho Scroll
  • On Saturday, the BYUI-Idaho Public Relations Society will host Cultivating Connections to teach students how to network as guest speakers from June’s Place coffee shop and the Career Center give advice on building professional contacts. The event will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Hyrum Manwaring Student Center little theater and will offer students hands-on experience in planning and communication.  BYU-Idaho Scroll
