  • EastIdahoNews.com and Ashley and Ashley Outlet honored Valerie, a cook at Homestead Senior Living, on Feel Good Friday for bringing extra cheer to residents by creating festive decorations and volunteering extra hours. Valerie led a project to hang 100 handmade paper snowflakes—an effort that brightened the dining hall and included homemade treats.  East Idaho News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Sugarbeast in Rexburg offers a magical dessert experience in an iconic dome shaped building across from BYU-Idaho. The shop, opened last summer, serves rotating ice cream flavors, creative pastries and other treats—while hosting karaoke nights every Saturday from 7 to 10 p.m. and catering special events.  East Idaho News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today at the Ezra Taft Benson Building, the advanced wedding and event planning class hosted Temples in Bloom—a floral celebration that showcased temples from Rome, Salt Lake City, Tokyo, Nuku’alofa, and Guatemala City with themed displays and snacks, and reflected weeks of hard work by the students. SPORTS NEWS

  • Blackfoot and Madison baseball teams paid tribute to former player Eliah Gordo during their game on March 28 by wearing jerseys with his name and No. 13—players recalled his passion for baseball and the impact he had on the community. Gordo died on Aug. 15, 2024 and his family received warm support from both teams as a heartfelt memorial to his life.  East Idaho News
