The Rexburg Soup Kitchen opened just over three weeks ago and is already serving many in need.

It now provides about 100 meals each week and will have volunteers booked through late May or early June.

Alex Andrews, owner of Old Souls Bakery, will host the Rexburg Cake Picnic on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Uptown Event Center on 57 East Main Street - attendees can pay $3 to join by bringing a cake or $6 to taste, with fees helping cover the venue cost.

Rexburg residents can now visit Custom Creatures Pet Club at 28 College Avenue, a new exotic pet store owned by Jordan and Maureen Moores that opened on April 2.

The couple, with over two decades of pet business experience, said they plan to vary their animal selection based on local demand — expecting to serve families, college kids and longtime locals.

Harwood Elementary and Rigby City are working together to solve a traffic problem near the school caused by a low-visibility stop sign+ officials will meet soon to decide on safety improvements for students and pedestrians.

Magnolia Estates, a 12-lot subdivision located off 3800, has been approved by Planning and Zoning after years of review.

The final plat and development agreement clears the way for future work on the subdivision - changes may be seen soon.
