EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Madison High School students are competing tonight at the Invest Nest event at the Madison Performing Arts Center, where the Round 3 winner will receive $5,000 and a chance to advance to compete in Utah for a $20,000 prize. The competition—which features ideas ranging from AI tools for dyslexic readers to lawn care services and is organized by business teacher Jennifer Barzee—will start with a meet-and-greet at 6 p.m. followed by presentations at 7 p.m. East Idaho News
- ➤ Tuesday morning, Adams Elementary in Rexburg held an active school shooting drill to test emergency procedures for students and staff with support from Rexburg Police + Fire and the transportation department. The drill also saw some teachers and students remain on campus + their response time was monitored to further improve safety measures. Local News 8

- ➤ A Madison County detective named Christian Teage is honored for his work protecting children from internet crime. Operation Safe Online, launched last summer, has relied on teamwork with local agencies—like Rexburg PD—to support his efforts. Local News 8
