- ➤ A Rexburg resident ended his 25-year career promoting Eastern Idaho tourism & his work helped the region see significant growth in visitors. Rexburg Standard Journal
- ➤ The Rexburg Farmers Market opens today at the Madison County Fairgrounds with a new layout featuring 81 vendors and family activities (yard games and live music planned on opening night), and it will run every Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. through September. East Idaho News

- ➤ Madison County firefighters and deputies are working to put out a home fire on 4500 North and 5800 West in Plano north of Rexburg — officials ask residents to avoid the area for safe operations. East Idaho News

- ➤ Today, BYU-Idaho students found a hacker message on Canvas that threatened to release personal data at several schools unless a ransom is paid by Tuesday, May 12 — the threat was quickly removed and replaced with a maintenance notice as investigators responded. BYU-Idaho Scroll

- ➤ Two-time Grammy Award-winning Lauren Daigle will perform at BYU-Idaho Center on Sept. 18, 2026 at 7:30 p.m.; tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. (BYU-Idaho Center Stage announced the event). East Idaho News

- ➤ Madison Memorial Hospital held a ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday, May 5 to welcome its new Bell 407 medical helicopter owned by Intermountain Health Flight — the addition will improve rapid care access to rural areas like Island Park and West Yellowstone. BYU-Idaho Scroll
