  • MadisonHealth is sponsoring an emergency responders luncheon later this month in Rexburg to invite residents rescued by emergency responders to share their stories—showing support for local public safety efforts.  Rexburg Standard Journal

  • After a year and a half in Rexburg, Teton Bagel moved to a larger suite — a few doors closer to the Cedars Women's apartments. Owner Ryan Bestor said the shop now makes bagels from scratch and offers six bagel types plus over 14 breakfast and lunch sandwiches, including the popular Teton Burger.  BYU-Idaho Scroll

CRIME NEWS

  • Accused law breakers kept Idaho State Police, Madison County Sheriff's deputies + Rexburg Police busy Friday night as they answered 19 calls for help.  Rexburg Standard Journal
  • Rexburg Police reported they are searching for Christopher, an 11-year-old with mental health concerns who was last seen near University Blvd and then spotted on Maple Drive near Lincoln Elementary School at 4:15 p.m.—witnesses should contact dispatch at 208-372-5001.  Local News 8

CULTURE NEWS

  • The BYU-Idaho Symphony Orchestra will hold its first concert of the semester on May 15 in the Ruth H. Barrus Concert Hall inside the Eliza R. Snow Center at 7:30 p.m.—the program will feature Sibelius’ 'Finlandia', pieces by Rautavaara, and Dvořák’s Eighth Symphony, with student tickets available for $5.  BYU-Idaho Scroll

  • Independent filmmaker T.C. Christensen shared three key pieces of advice for aspiring filmmakers at a BYU-Idaho forum Friday, urging students to study film — network with peers and learn from top films.
