  • A man was arrested on felony and misdemeanor charges after he led police on a high-speed chase near Rexburg Sunday evening—starting around 5:30 p.m. near South 5th West and returning near Pioneer Road at 7:45 p.m.—after allegedly stalking an ex-girlfriend and ramming a police car.  East Idaho News
  • An ex-boyfriend allegedly stalking his former girlfriend led Rexburg Police on a high-speed chase at 5:30 p.m. Sunday — officers reported the incident on their Facebook page.  Rexburg Standard Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • Roots and Boots at 433 Airport Road in Rexburg is a dance venue that teaches swing and line dancing and draws about 300 patrons on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights from 7:30 p.m. to midnight — it was started by lifelong dancer Austin King in November 2023 to build a local dancing community — it offers both indoor and outdoor areas for learning new moves.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Rexburg’s Dodie Beavin—owner of Pirates and Mermaids Swim Academy—is applying for a USA Swimming Foundation grant to offer free swim and water safety lessons to underprivileged kids during the school day, pending support from local school districts. The grant could pay for a bus to transport students and help serve up to 2,000 participants for the 2025-26 school year.  East Idaho News
