- ➤ After 17 years, Madison Fire Department Pipe Brigade announced that 2026 will be its final season of performing. The group will honor local traditions with Memorial Day events on May 25 at Plano and Sutton Cemeteries and final parades at 9/11 Memorial Walk and Patriot Day Parade. Local News 8
- ➤ The Rigby Chamber of Commerce and the Rodeo Board are preparing for Stampede Days, a 2-day event celebrating 250 years with an all-American spirit. The festival will host family-friendly activities and local gatherings later in 2026. The Jefferson Star

- ➤ A fire destroyed historic Thornton Mercantile near Rexburg on Wednesday evening and spread to nearby buildings, forcing an evacuation. Rexburg Standard Journal
- ➤ Firefighters from throughout the Upper Valley helped control a fire that destroyed Thornton Mercantile on Wednesday around 6:30 p.m.+ their rapid response secured the site. Rexburg Standard Journal
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Career Center is hosting a Graduate Program Fair today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the BYUI Center Courts, inviting all students to explore graduate school opportunities with recruiters from across the country. BYU-Idaho Scroll
- ➤ BYUI’s SpringFest spirit week runs from Monday, June 1 through Saturday, June 6, and will offer events like Temple Run, Mud Fest, and rugby games.
