  • On Tuesday, construction workers dismantled the century-old Fun Farm Bridge while nearly 100 Upper Valley residents watched, and plans (for a new bridge to be built this week) will soon move forward.  Rexburg Standard Journal

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Hangar is a live music venue at 309 Profit Street in Rexburg that hosts local bands and events multiple nights a week. Co-owned by Keith Meenan of Make it Now! Productions, it now offers a 30x30 foot stage and space for up to 350 people—ensuring local artists have a strong platform for performances.  East Idaho News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Brigham Young University-Idaho has started notifying department chairs that some majors may be restructured, consolidated, or discontinued — confirmed reviews include programs in Visual and Performing Arts, Education and Finance. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • City leaders and the mayor chose a new home for the Rexburg Police Department just off Pioneer Road near Highway 20—a spot chosen for its accessibility to officers and the community. Voters will be asked this fall to support a bond to complete the project since the city has funds only for a down payment.  Local News 8
