- ➤ Rexburg confirmed a new Buffalo Wild Wings Express will open next to Twisted Sugar and Wendy’s off East Moody Road with takeout as its focus—Iceberg Drive Inn will debut in August, and plans for WinCo Foods near the same area with a new Ross Dress for Less at 125 Valley River Drive are also underway. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A two-year-old boy from Rexburg was rescued from an irrigation ditch on June 9, 1932 after floating through several culverts at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Garner, as reported by The Rexburg Standard. In a separate event near Ashton on June 9, 1967, a grizzly bear mauled an Idaho Falls man and injured two teenagers attempting to distract the animal—details provided by the Idaho State Journal. - ➤ The iconic Budweiser Clydesdales will return to Eastern Idaho this July with three events set in Idaho Falls, Historic Downtown Pocatello, and Ammon—each showcasing a unique display of these famous horses. They will appear on July 3 from 4:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. with a Folds of Honor check presentation, on July 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. for an eight-horse hitch, and on July 5 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for a one-horse show—marking their first visit since 2018. - ➤ Public information officers and trainees gathered at the Madison County Fire Department on June 11th for a three-day FEMA course—led by local experts—to improve emergency communication so messages reach residents quickly during disasters. Local News 8
- ➤ Idaho State Police warned motorcyclists against lane splitting this summer (a risky maneuver that could lead to accidents) as more bikes fill the roads and urged riders to stay safe. The Jefferson Star
