CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A woman was arrested on DUI charges after her car caused significant property damage in a Tuesday, June 10 hit-and-run crash on North 2nd East when she fled the scene and the vehicle drove into a field—ran over a small tree, nearly missed a power pole, went airborne into an embankment and struck a patrol car—while officers noted signs of drug impairment and later booked her following a hospital visit. CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The BYU-Idaho Art Faculty Show opened yesterday at 7 p.m. at Spori Art Gallery — 18 faculty members display a mix of works in a free exhibit that remains open through July 24. BYU-Idaho Scroll

- ➤ Rexburg purchased land on Pioneer Road for a new police station — a step toward growing its police department. The new building will provide more room for additional staff. Rexburg Standard Journal
- ➤ The Rexburg City Council met today to discuss speeding concerns on Trejo Street and plans to clean up the skate park. Two local residents said they want drivers to slow down to keep the area safe. Rexburg Standard Journal
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Construction management professor Shawn Jensen returned to the mat after 27 years and earned second-place medals in both freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling at a national championship in April—competing against several skilled opponents.
