ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On July 13, Fremont County Search and Rescue along with EMS, Emergency Management and Air Idaho rescued a hiker with a broken leg from Robinson Creek Canyon east of Ashton—rescuers navigated rugged terrain to stabilize the injury and lift the person out—and transferred the injured hiker to medical care.  Local News 8

CRIME NEWS

  • Rexburg Police are investigating a vehicle theft from Bunkhouse Apartments when a car was taken on July 8 around 8:50 a.m.—an unmarked tow truck was seen near the scene.  Local News 8

CULTURE NEWS

  • BYU-Idaho’s public history class opened its exhibit on Rexburg Main Street memories from 1950 to 2000 at the BYU-Idaho Center on July 10 — students collected interviews from community members. The exhibit runs until July 24 — it invites visitors to reflect on how Main Street shaped the town.  BYU-Idaho Scroll
  • Rexburg Cultural Arts will present 'Annie Jr.' with 60 local youth who trained during a two-week theater boot camp—showing the musical at Romance Theater on East Main Street with performances on Friday, July 18 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 19 at 2 and 7 p.m., tickets on sale online and the lobby opening 45 minutes early for each show.  East Idaho News

  • Student entrepreneurs gathered at Hyrum Manwaring Center on Thursday to pitch their business ideas to a panel of local and national business owners.
