To honor local 9/11 victim Brady Kay Howell, a flag raising will occur Friday at 7 a.m. at Station (1) at 26 North Center Street in Rexburg, with a Memorial Walk at Porter Park and a Patriot Day Memorial Ceremony at 6 p.m. later that day.
Horsemen from the area will showcase their skills in starting young horses at the Madison County Fairgrounds in Rexburg from Sept.
17 to Sept. 19. Organizers will honor a fallen trainer by raising funds through a pig and gun raffle and baked sale.

Crews from Rocky Mountain Power are working to clear a downed power line near the 3400 block at East 2000 North, and the road will remain closed for about 4 hours; drivers are advised to use alternate routes until the area is safe.

Blister's Barbecue marks 15 years by offering an anniversary special today on Main Street featuring $1 fries and $6 pulled pork sandwiches.
The restaurant began as a small gas station spot on Highway 33 and now seats over 100 locals with fresh potatoes from Summerco Farms.
