  • Firefly Books and Comics opened today at 29 College Avenue. The new bookstore—owned by Jon Cooney and his children Ashli and Tristan—carries books, comics and manga and is open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  BYU-Idaho Scroll

CULTURE NEWS

  • A BYU-Idaho student carries on a pioneer family tradition by using a red woven blanket that once rescued his great-great-great-uncle (1856) during frontier days. The story highlights local heritage and honors early settlers in the community.  Rexburg Standard Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Rexburg received a Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, and city officials are now asking residents to take a safety survey (responses will guide road safety improvements).  Rexburg Standard Journal
