Maureen Moores of Rexburg’s Custom Creatures asked locals for help finding her 40-year-old parade star tortoise—Master Oogway—which went missing after appearing at the local parades and may have been dropped off near Warm Slough amid a suspected pet-napping.

Darby Taylor started a summer lunch program for Ririe kids ages 1-18 that served 234 lunches in the last two weeks—she gathered volunteers, donors, and donations to supply meals despite early challenges.

Madison Fire Department and the Board of County Commissioners declared a temporary open fire ban in Madison County until September 30th.

The ban prohibits all forms of open burning—campfires, bonfires, trash burning, agricultural burning and fireworks—and violators will face fines of $100 to $300.
